This was a fun painting which gave me lots of pleasure. It's very different from my usual style but I really enjoyed it and it gave me a real boost. Today, in Edinburgh, the wind is howling and the rain is lashing but I'm heading upstairs to my little 'den' which I use as my studio and I am going to paint. I'm going to light some candles, put some music on and see what evolves. I wish you all a happy painting day!
I lived for years in Pavia, a city where you go much on a bike!
ReplyDeleteBut a lady so I have not ever seen!
That allure! And you painted a perfect watercolor, as an image and as a feeling!Happy painting!
Hi Rita ... I think when we paint, it's as as important to portray the 'feeling' as well as a decent image. I'm so pleased you see that in my work, thank you! :)
DeleteOoh, that sounds like my kind of day! Curled up indoors with my tea and my art supplies. I love the bicyclist painting! It's beautifully rendered and has such a great feeling of happiness and simple joys.
ReplyDeleteToday has been quite like yesterday, Katherine. I was home alone today so I made a pan of home made soup, lit some candles and curled up on the sofa with a Christmas movie. So pleased you like my painting, thank you! :)
DeleteThat sounds like the perfect thing to do, Ingrid. The weather is the same here, and I think I will stay in and paint, too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a successful painting day, Kathryn. I went back to a Gerbera painting I had finished but wasn't too happy with ... no happier with it now, but I had a good day never the less. I see you have a second blog, I will be stopping by for a look. Tc.. :)
DeleteLovely little painting Ingrid.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Frank! :)
DeleteI love the joy in this painting, it makes me happy, I also like the sound of where you paint, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day, here in Northern Ontario Canada its over cast, snowing and no wind, snowflakes falling straight down,
ReplyDeleteI did have a super day, Laurie, thank you! I do love the snow and the forecasters says we are to have snow by the end of the month. Please put a photo of 'your snow' on your blog, I'd love to see it. I love my little painting corner of the world, there is a big comfy sofa in the room and a TV for when my husband works in here. The best part is the window .. from where I sit I am lucky enough to see up a little hill to a big, south west sky, it changes by the minute. Towards sunset I sit here in awe of the beautiful colours. I am a great cloud watcher! Keep warm, Laurie ... good to see you! :)
DeleteThis is a beautiful painting, Ingrid.
ReplyDeleteSo glad it gave you pleasure, art should do that :)
Now, why did you send your rain down to us? Do I need a painting day?
Hahaha ... I thought the rain might help your drought, Pat! I hope by now the hose pipe ban has been lifted. So pleased you like my painting, Pat, thank you! Hope all is well with you! :)
DeleteHi Ingrid, you certainly know how to create the right atmosphere for painting :-) Love your cyclist, very elegant and very very well done !
