We have been trying to get out walking more now the festive season is behind us. My husband Iain is to be doing the Edinburgh marathon "Moon Walk" again this year for 'Breast Cancer' and I am getting back into hillwalking. Last week we walked to the next village and on the way back we paused to watch two Hares in a field.
I love the cheeky way they sit up and have a look around, beautiful creatures . I did a 5 minute sketch of my Mr Hare. I could take it further but I quite like the less is more approach here.

I'm glad you didn't take it any further Ingrid, it has the beautiful simplicity of a Chinese painting.

ReplyDeleteCheers Humberto ... and thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Keith! This really was just an exercise. I did two paintings, one heavier and with more detail, and this one. This painting was done in 5 minutes and was very much what I had wanted to achieve ... trust me to take the long way round! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat ... so good to see you here! ~X~
ReplyDeleteLove how simple yet 'speaking' it is :)

I love your hare. :) He has such a look in his eyes, watchful, but intelligent and I just love that. Of course I've always had a soft spot for rabbits since I read Watership Down, it's one of my favorite books ever.
ReplyDeleteMarielle, thank you. It means a lot to me that people feel the connection I feel with my painting! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Crystal ... he reminded me of 'Watership Down' somehow. I think that was gave me the confidence to stop when I did. Many thanks! :)
Thank you and welcome to my Blog Evelin. I will certainly visit your blog also. :)
