Yesterday was my youngest daughter, Belle's birthday. Here is Belle with her 'Belle' cake made for her by my eldest daughter, Dawn. (a work of Art I thought) :)) 'Belle' is not the name on her birth certificate, her 'real' name is Clare, but when she was very small it often became Clarebelle, then 'Belle' for short ... and there it remained. As you can see she has always loved Disney's 'Belle'.
We all went to a cottage in the Trossachs for the weekend, a family day Friday/Saturday, then Belle's friends arrived for Saturday/Sunday. The weather was super by day, but cold at night, Fortunately the cottage was well heated and we spent a lovely evening sitting round a wood burning stove. One of the highlights of being out in the country were the stars, we spent ages outside admiring the heavens! A great few days full of lasting memories!
what a lovely weekend you've had - the weather has been so gorgeous down here and looks like it's been fab up there for you too! Love the cake!
ReplyDeleteThis will be the third time I have responded to your post, Sharon. I don't understand where my replies are going.
DeleteThe weather was fabulous that weekend and for as lovely as the cake looked it was never cut so I have no idea how it tasted. Hope all is well with you! ~X~

DeleteHappy birthday for your daughter Belle!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for stopping by, Judy ... always good to see you! :)
DeleteI can't imagine a nicer way to spend a couple of days than tucked away in a cottage with your offspring. The 'cottage' looks fabulous and that cake is out of this world. Clever Dawn. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe certainly had a great time, J, and when I look at the photos of the kids enjoying themselves after we left, they had an even greater time! Next time you visit we will take you guys over there and show that part of the world. :)
DeleteSounds like a magical weekend...
ReplyDeleteAll the best for your daughter's birthday dear Ingrid! The cake was a real piece of art, in deed!
Warm regards.
It was indeed magical, Konstantina ... and the best bit was that we were all together as a family! Thank you for stopping by! :)
DeleteYou have a very artistic family, wow! Cakes are way beyond my capabilities, they are indeed an art to be mastered. Belle's cake is gorgeous! The cottage would be so much fun! Glad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to Belle! And what a gorgeous cottage! I can only imagine how much fun it would be to sit around a fireplace in such a picturesque setting.
ReplyDeleteDear Ingrid took a moment to visit your blog. This was my first time to stop by and I certainly enjoyed being here. Your cottage looks like a wonderful place to go for a week-end. As for the cake - your daughter Dawn is certainly talented. Happy birthday to Belle. Thanks for sharing these special moments. Take care and God Bless.
ReplyDeleteHello Ingrid, what a nice idea to all go away together and it sounds like you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteThere have been some wonderfully clear nights haven't there. We had a good display of the Northern Lights up here. I don't know whether you saw them down there. I saw some photographs taken from Fife.
That cake is fabulous! A work of art!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks to you Kimberly! :)
DeleteParabéns ao filho e felicidades para todos. Belo trabalho.
