Just before the rain battered my poppies I took some photos and decided to paint this one. It is more detailed than I am used to and it did feel a wee bit like painting by numbers but I still enjoyed creating this. Sadly the rain has flattened every new poppy that has come out since ... I think we can officially say summer is cancelled this year!
this is more detailed than I'm used to from you but beautiful all the same, there's still time for summer to make an appearance - don't lose hope yet - I love poppies and they are getting a battering from all the rain, such a shame!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, good to see you and thank you! I've just been looking at your super crags, love them! :)
ReplyDeleteOlá!
ReplyDeleteFicou muito perfeito o teu trabalho. Gostei da beleza das" nuances" vermelhas, como convêm a uma papoila.Abraços.

More detailed, but very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHello,Ingrid!Beautiful strong poppy! This poppy has character!I love it!
ReplyDeleteThey can't stand much rough weather can they. It always seems that they have just come out when it turns windy or wet. Never mind, the painting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Ingrid, your poppy is just beautiful, love the red you used. Ciao!
ReplyDeleteIngrid, I think it's beautiful! The colors are so rich.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Ingrid you are a real artist ...so I will tip-toe to the back of the blog and keep quiet.
ReplyDeleteLove your work.
Well you know what I think about this. It is certainly one of your best yet. Your flowers are always excellent but the little bit of detail in this one lifts it to a new level.
ReplyDeleteAnd for everyone else's benefit, Ingrid very kindly gave this painting to my wife and it now hangs proudly on our lounge wall. If you think the photo of it is great, you should see the real thing. It's outstanding. Thank you Ingrid. ;-)
Love poppies, and yours is just glorious!
ReplyDeleteBeautyful Poppie!
ReplyDeleteI live the rich color red. Nice painting.
ReplyDeletethere is too much feeling in this for it to be a paint-by-number. Love the color and the blending and the way it takes center stage.
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous Ingrid and you have captured it beautifully. At least you have your wonderful painting to remember the poppy by. I thought I had added you to my list already but apparently not. All sorted now. Laura x
ReplyDeleteTo each and every one of you, thank you! Your words mean so much to me and your support inspires me to keep on striving to be the best I can be. :)
